Overview

A kit of 300 through-hole ceramic capacitors in 10 values from 10pF to 100nF, 30 of each, rated 50V and sorted by value in a clear 10-compartment box with a value chart inside the lid. It has the small caps most Arduino, ESP32 and hobby circuits need: 100nF to decouple every chip, 10pF to 30pF for crystal load pairs, and 1nF and 10nF for filtering and button debounce. Wiring & getting started

  1. Read the code

    The first two digits are the value and the third is how many zeros follow, in pF. 104 is 10 and four zeros, 100,000pF, which is 100nF or 0.1µF. 102 is 1nF and 103 is 10nF. Watch for code 100: it is 10pF, not 100pF.

  2. Fit it either way round

    Ceramic caps have no polarity. Push the leads into a breadboard, or through a protoboard, and solder.

  3. Keep it close

    Decoupling caps work best with short leads, right beside the chip’s supply and ground pins.

  4. Put spares back

    Return each cap to its own compartment so the values stay sorted. The chart in the lid shows which is which.

Note: The parts are marked with value only, not dielectric or tolerance, so for a precision timing or filter circuit that must hold its value over temperature, use a capacitor sold as C0G/NP0.
