Overview

A white 170 tie-point mini solderless breadboard, the small SYB-170 size with 17 columns and no power rails. It suits a single sensor, a few LEDs and buttons, or a small DIP chip circuit beside your Arduino or ESP32, and it fixes down with its adhesive pad or two M2 screws. If you need power rails or more room, choose the 400 point breadboard or the 830 point breadboard.

What’s in the box

1×
170 point mini breadboard, white

Adhesive pad fitted underneath with its backing paper on. Components and jumper wires are not included.

Great for

Wiring one sensor or module to an Arduino or ESP32 with jumpers
LED, button and resistor circuits for learning
A 555 timer or other small DIP chip circuit
Sticking a small test circuit inside a project box
Clipping several together for a classroom or kit
Trying a circuit before soldering it to protoboard

Wiring & getting started

  1. Know the groups

The five holes in one column on the same side of the centre channel are joined. Holes across the channel, or in different columns, are not.

  2. Make your own supply columns

With no rails, run a jumper from 3.3V or 5V into one column and ground into another. Each gives you five joined holes to share.

  3. Place parts across columns

Put each leg of a part in a different column, then join columns with short jumpers. A DIP chip sits across the channel with one row of legs each side.

  4. Fix it down when you’re sure

Peel the backing to stick it in place, or use two M2 screws through the round holes at the ends of the channel.

Note: a breadboard is a low voltage bench tool. Keep it to 3.3V and 5V logic and small signal circuits, and never connect mains to it.
