What’s in the box
Order at least 5. The quantity in your basket is the number of switches you receive. Caps are not included.
Great for
Wiring & getting started
-
Use two diagonal leads
The four leads form two sides of one switch. Diagonally opposite leads are always on different sides, so wiring to a diagonal pair works whichever way round the switch sits.
-
Connect to your board
Wire one lead to GND and the other to a digital pin set to INPUT_PULLUP. The pin reads HIGH when released and LOW while pressed.
-
Debounce in code
The contacts bounce for a few milliseconds. Ignore changes for about 20 to 50 ms after each press, or use a debounce library.
-
Add a cap if you like
Push a 12 mm square-stem tactile cap straight down onto the stem. A multimeter on continuity confirms which leads are joined before you solder.
Note: The lead spacing and height are approximate. Fit one switch to your board or panel before drilling a batch or ordering PCBs. For a smaller button see the 6x6mm 4-pin tactile switch.
